Producer · Director
Los Angeles
Chris Cummings is a filmmaker who came up in feature films, spending more than a decade on productions led by directors including Robert Zemeckis, the Coen Brothers, Tim Burton, Sam Mendes and Terrence Malick — in the company of cinematographers such as Roger Deakins and Emmanuel Lubezki and production designers Dennis Gassner and Rick Carter.
The lessons of that work — story, craft, restraint — stayed with him.
He later co-founded Through the Woods, producing campaigns for brands including Rolls-Royce, Auberge Resorts and TUMI, handling concept through edit and post.
What he makes now grows from a simple love of the work — of design, of clothes, of craftsmanship, of a story well told, of an image that lingers.
Editing · design
Visual effects · finishing
Two decades of editing, design, visual effects and finishing sit behind every frame; lately he’s been folding the newest tools into that foundation, conceiving, directing and completing films on his own — fewer limits, the same fundamentals of narrative and feeling he learned on set.
No twelve-page proposal, no six-week pre-production. Send a brief and a reference — the groundwork gets built once, and everything after moves faster. Whether that’s a single campaign or an ongoing partner across every property and every channel, the starting point is the same.
